EASTER, SPRINGTIME AND A VERY BUSY APRIL!

Our April was busy with our usual Tuesday night Karaoke at Pineapple Larry's in Newburgh NY, Wednesday evening Happy Hour at the Lackawaxen Inn, and Friday night Karaoke at Rohman's Inn in Shohola PA. In addition, we did several school dances at Washingtonville Middle School in Washingtonville NY, Minisink Valley Middle School in Slate Hill NY,  Delaware Valley Middle School in Milford PA, and Ridgeway Elementary School in White Plains NY, plus some private events...

We would like to wish a very Happy 75th Birthday to Maria S.! She celebrated with her loved ones at the Stony Ford Golf Course at Orange County Park in Montgomery NY on April 14. Maria is Puerto Riccan, so they enjoyed dancing the night away to lots of danzas, salsas, merengues and bachatas, in addition to all their English favorites!

We wish to congratulate the newly married Michelle and Jeff S. They had a beautiful ceremony and reception at wonderful Perona Farms in Andover NJ on April 21. Michelle wore a beautiful draped gown in white satin with a sweetheart neckline and ruched bodice, and a beaded applique on the left hip. The Bridesmaids wore short, cascading strapless dresses in lilac chiffon with pleated bodices. The junior bridesmaid wore a short lilac chiffon bubble hem dress and the flower girls wore pretty little lilac dresses with bows at their waists. The groom wore a black tuxedo with a white vest and a white necktie, and the groomsmen wore black tuxedos with black vests and lilac neckties. A delicious sit-down dinner followed the ceremony and cocktail hour. It was a beautiful day for a wedding! Everyone had a fantastic time dancing to Michelle and Jeff's favorites... a wonderful blend of country, top 40 and classics.

Happy Sweet 16 to Kelsey D.! Her parents threw her a terrific party at the beautiful Annarella's at Storm King Golf Club in Cornwall NY on April 28. Kelsey wore a beautiful cornflower blue satin pick-up gown with spaghetti straps and a beaded ruched bodice and upon her head a sparkling tiara. The kids all had a great time and danced all night!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

This is an exciting time of the year... Daylight Savings Time was last weekend, bringing us longer days (hurray!) and the first day of Spring is only one week away!

Since my last post, we entertained at several middle school dances, a Mardi Gras Party at the Lackawaxen Inn, a Sweet 16 for Danielle at the Farmstead Country Club in Andover, NJ (Happy Birthday!) and a going away for Mike at the Greenville VFW in Port Jervis, NY, who is leaving for a 14-month tour in Afghanistan (Godspeed, Mike!). Last weekend, we also performed at two St. Patrick's Day parties and have another one this coming Saturday. Plus... our regular Karaoke at Pineapple Larry's on Tuesday night, Happy Hour at the Lackawaxen Inn on Wednesdays and Karaoke at Rohman's Inn on Friday nights.

The daffodils are rapidly growing and Easter is less than a month away. Although we had a mild winter, I am still looking forward to Spring. Aside from it being a beautiful time of year with flowers blooming and buds appearing, it is also the start of Wedding Season. We are really looking forward to working with all our wonderful couples and helping them celebrate the start of their new lives together!

Winter Doldrums and Happy Times

Well, yesterday afternoon I checked the weather report online and was told that today would be 51 degrees and raining. Needless to say, I woke up to three inches of snow and temps in the low 30s! So much for the latest and greatest weather radars. lol.

We started the New Year by providing DJ entertainment at the Annual New Year's Day party at Crossroads Restaurant in Yulan NY. A great time, as always. As everyone knows, January and February are our "slower" months, but welcome at the same time to give us time to recharge after the usual hectic December! We still were very busy with our three school districts' dances, every Wednesday Happy Hour at Lackawaxen Inn, every Friday night Karaoke at Rohman's Inn in Shohola, filling in at the Greenville Inn and now we are looking forward to Tuesday night Karaoke at Pineapple Larry's in Newburgh. And...we are looking forward to the annual Delaware Valley High School Semi-Formal tonight!

We would like to extend the following wishes to our clients, who we had the privilege of providing entertainment for:

Happy 7th Birthday to Dominique! (Howard Johnson Poconos Inn, Bartonsville PA)
Happy Sweet 16 to Jennifer! (Conashaugh Lakes Clubhouse, Milford PA)
Best wishes to newlyweds Stephanie and Gary! (Birchwood Caterers, Monroe NY)

Back to the weather... here's hoping the wind advisory they are predicting goes away! *crosses fingers*

A Holiday Party, A Middle School Dance and Karaoke!

Last Friday, we had the privilege of once again entertaining the staff at Guiding Eyes For The Blind in Yorktown Heights NY. It was great to be back after their Holiday Party hiatus! The first party we did for them was in 1998, so we go way back. They are such a terrific bunch of people! This year, in addition to their traditional lip sync skits, DJ Tom also provided karaoke. Some really great singers there! DJ Jon also entertained the kids at one of our middle schools and DJ Brad provided karaoke at Rohman's Inn in Shohola PA.

Saturday was a night off for all our DJs-- and a welcome one at that. My husband, Tom, finally got a chance to see the Saturday night movie on HBO! DJs don't very often have off on Saturdays, so it was a treat! We couldn't decide on whether to go out or stay and and opted to stay in. We watched Red Riding Hood and then Country Strong on TIVO. We really enjoyed both films.

Merry Christmas to all!

Four Weddings... and a Homecoming Dance!

Last weekend, we entertained at four weddings... Julia and Chris at the West Point Club, West Point NY; Laurie and Brad at the Warwick Center, Warwick NY; Bob and Christa at the Riverview Inn, Matamoras PA; and, Amanda and AJ at Catlin Gardens, Slate Hill NY. We also provided the entertainment for a Middle School Dance, a High School Homecoming Dance, along with our usual Friday and Sunday Karaoke.

Laurie and Brad had their ceremony in the upstairs Chapel of the Warwick Center, followed by the cocktail hour and reception in the Port Ewen Banquet Room. The Center is perched on a 465-acre estate, offering wonderful country views. DJ Terry provided the music for ceremony, cocktail hour and reception.

The West Point Club offers an amazing view of the Hudson River and surrounding mountains. Julia and Chris chose the hours of 4 to 8 p.m., so everyone was able to gaze at the view for the majority of the reception which was held in the Grand Ballroom. DJ Tom was the entertainer.

Bob and Christa were hoping to have their ceremony and cocktail hour outside at the Riverview Inn, along the scenic Delaware River, but was held inside, due to the weather not cooperating. Fortunately, the Riverview Inn is lined with windows, so everyone was still able to enjoy the scenery. DJ Joey provided music for ceremony, cocktail hour and reception.

We really have to compliment Catlin Gardens on the superb job they did restoring the gardens so quickly after the terrible damage done by the flooding of Catlin Creek as a result of Tropical Storm Lee. Amanda and AJ were able to have their outdoor ceremony and cocktail hour, as they had planned, followed by the reception in the Manor House. DJ Tom was the entertainer and provided music for ceremony, cocktail hour and reception.

The school dances went off without a hitch. The Middle School dance was a black light party and the kids really got a kick out of the lights provided by DJ Tom, and the props provided by the PTA. The principal told me he thought it was the best dance they had to date.

The Homecoming dance was a smashing success! DJs Brendan and Brad really rocked the crowd! They, too, were told it was the best Homecoming Dance ever had.

This coming weekend is a welcome break, as we are doing our regular Friday and Sunday Karaoke at Rohman's Inn in Shohola PA and late-night entertainment on Saturday at the Greenville Inn in Port Jervis NY. Come on out and have some fun with DJ Tom!
